We performed a lot of house and office clearances in Motherwell and we know the area quite well.

Of course there is no-brainer for the football fans  that Motherwell has its own football team: Motherwell Football Club.  This is a professional football club that plays in the Scottish Premiership. So, you may want to visit the Fir Park Stadium.

For those who rather admire the architecture, Dalziel St. Andrew’s Parish Church will be the architectural cherry on the cake. Dalziel St. Andrew’s Parish Church was mentioned for the first time in 12th century and it was the property of the Abbey of Paisley.
You may find out more historical facts here >

If you’re religious you probably will want to visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes, Carfin Grotto situated in the Parish of St Francis Xavier’s in the village of Carfin, near Motherwell.

What else is worth to mention in Motherwell? – North Lanarkshire Heritage Centre. This museum is frequently changing exhibitions and activities for children. They also provide craft activities and events for families and also have outdoor toys in their enclosed garden.

For those who like to walk, Strathclyde Country Park is the best choice – 400 hectares of countryside in the valley of the River Clyde surrounding Strathclyde Loch. Not so far away is also RSPB Scotland Barons Haugh Nature Reserve – a home for the wildlife on the banks of the River Clyde.

There are a lot of other places to enjoy or to eat, but we are pretty sure you will explore by yourself while visiting Motherwell. We truly recommend the visit.
